(RE)meter was established by Commercial Real Estate veterans, Jack Buck and Scott Openlander

Jack Buck: Founder and Visionary

Jack Buck founded Free Market Ventures (FMV), a private equity real estate development and investment firm, headquartered in Chicago. As President, Jack oversees all acquisitions, development, finance and investments in Real Estate and Real Estate related companies.

Prior to founding FMV, Jack served as a Principal of the John Buck Company, a privately owned, vertically integrated, full-service Real Estate company. Jack was responsible for a vast range of office, retail, hotel and residential projects. Jack is a board member of the Big Shoulders Fund and Vice Chairman of One Chance Illinois OCI; a charity dedicated to advancing public policy that advocates for a 21st century educational system designed to serve today's children. Jack earned his BA from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Jack's proven process in hunting and sourcing deals while forming effective teams helped establish FMV as the driving investment force in developing (RE)meter as a brand and product.

Scott Openlander: Founder

Scott has over 20 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate for corporations and commercial real estate funds in the areas of commercial lease transactions, real estate finance and investment, credit risk, property management and Six Sigma/organizational management.

Scott's experience includes underwriting over 1,000 commercial lease transactions, managing a credit risk company that consulted to Commercial Real Estate (REITS) and also developed and implemented a national credit program for a 75 million square foot office REIT. Previously, he was Director of Real Estate for Kaplan Inc., a Washington Post Company, where he managed and provided support for a portfolio of over 6 million square feet of leased space and developed strategic plans to meet global business unit requirements. Scott obtained a BS, with a concentration in Finance, from the University of Illinois and a MBA from DePaul University with an emphasis in Commercial Real Estate investment.

Sarah Andersen: Director of Strategic Accounts

Sarah oversees coordination of national sales initiatives including new business and key account management. Since joining (RE)meter, she has focused on developing sales and marketing strategies, working in collaboration with the executive team to identify and grow overall channel and customer sales. Key functions include customer relations, product development, and marketing.

Lauren Mead: Head of Strategic Development

Lauren's primary focus at (RE)meter is to add value by thinking through strategic growth strategies, building a strong brand through concise communication, and helping build strategic partnerships for potential technology integrations. Lauren began her career in commercial banking at JP Morgan Chase where she gained experience understanding privately-owned entrepreneurial companies from a financial standpoint. Lauren started her own company in 2006 and worked as an independent strategy consultant for small businesses and startups. She has also worked as the Corporate Strategy Manager for Brooklyn Boulders, LLC where she focused on Business Development and Partnerships, and the CFO for Azeeza US where she built financial forecasts and budgets, wrote the full business plan, created an investor deck, and improved on the overall business strategy. Lauren holds an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois.
